morzine - march 2004

We only got a chance to go once in 2004 as Beth was studying so hard for her final exams. Timing of this trip was also an issue, meaning that we couldn't go with the sisters et al. This was the best trip I've had yet as my skiing has improved a great deal. I know feel in control whatever I'm skiing on, although I'm not always so graceful. I'll be working on that this year.

Lyn and Beth: "You're taking more photos?!"

I think this may have been coming down the Point de Nyon - someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

Old meets new at the Church in Morgins, a little Swiss village on the other side of the Portes du Soleil. We arrived here on the day that we were trying to do a circuit of the region. Unfortunately our plans were a little twarted by the lack of snow at lower levels. We did make it round, albeit with a little walking at Morgins.

Oh yes, who's the Daddy now Mr Rowe? This was just after we completed the Swiss Wall (also known as Chavanette), supposedly one of the hardest runs in Europe. The moguls here were something else, with the tops of the uphill ones being taller than me. This isn't something I'm going to repeat in a hurry, but I'll be back when I'm a little more experienced to see if I can complete it with a bit of style!

What do I look like? That's why there's no other pictures of me!

This is the view from the top of Avoriaz, just after you get dropped off the lift coming back from the Chatel side. You can see the (in)famous architecture of Avoriaz, and the two main runs through town. On the right hand side, a little further back, you can see the Super-Morzine sector with a green looking Morzine visible below.
