Ah...The benefits of moving north. The best bit is that the snow doesn't melt up the peak district much - which leads to some great conditions with the snow starting to stack up.
The great thing with the snow staying on the peaks is that you can see them from most places in town. Mundane shopping is made much easier by the view of snowy hills from Tescos car park.
I didn't get out sledging last year - mostly because I don't have a sledge - but I'm sure I'll find a tray/car bonnet at some point that'll do the job. I did make a snowman, but I got a little bored and I knew I had work that I should be doing.
What there doesn't seem to be is a lot of is piste bashers. Hmm...
